police, or talking about removing police, from all these places where they are doing very little law enforcement and much more community development - schools, event staff/security, around college campuses, enjoying free breakfast at Macdonald’s. These are all places where police are much much more likely just to get to know the community, and the community the police.

Seems like we are saying we want to reform the violent police by removing police from everything but pure law enforcement / violent situations.

Not sure that makes sense. I would think the opposite might make more sense. Have police do a lot more that has very little to do with law enforcement and a lot more to do with community development.
